Big news!

A week from today – February 16th — is a big day for making Oregon a better, more economically secure place for families. The night of February 16th, there is a very important hearing in our state legislature about paid sick time.  And we want YOU to be there, helping us to pack the house and have our voices heard!

Why you? Because you’re an Oregonian who wants our elected leaders to pass a strong statewide paid sick time law. And the more of us who show up for the hearing, the more likely our legislators are to do the right thing. On the flip side, if too few people attend, it’s too easy for our legislators to think people don’t care. When we know they do.

The hearing is on Monday, February 16th, from 6 to 8 PM at the Oregon State Capitol building in Salem.  It’s also President’s Day, which, needless to say, is a great day to be actively engaged in our democratic process. You don’t have to testify; just being there is incredibly important.

We really hope you are able to find the time to join us. It is hard to overstate how crucial it is that the legislature sees how important this issue is to all Oregonians.

Looking forward to seeing you on the 16th in Salem!

PS – Got kids?  Great, bring ‘em!  It will be a great opportunity for them to visit our state capitol and see how lawmaking happens (beyond Schoolhouse Rock)!
